"Yesterday"
You and me and such a pleasant yesterday
Darling, don't you know I had a lot to say
But as you smiled, all my words fell apart
Inside my head I felt the beating of your heart.
Seagulls chirping over my head since when
Clouds kissed the mountain in a shallow breath
Do you still cry in this ghosted town?
Do you still dream of the memories torn to shreds?
The music from the barracks reminds me
It's time to burn another candle in the church
No matter how badly it rips you apart,
What destroys you is what you cling to your heart.
You are not anymore in my mundane yesterdays
Lot left unspoken, obliterated beneath the waves
Reasons are irrelevant in the cycle of time
Voices screaming aloud from under the graves.
