Old Leaves - By Riddhima Sen
An Old age help Initiative
As people grow old, their body systems and brains start getting affected in a deteriorating path. The ability to cope with changes faces a gradual downfall. With increasing age, tendencies to behave like little kids increases too. Just like naïve, innocent children, senile people need to be taken care of. In addition to all of this, the prevention of diseases like dementia, amnesia is really difficult, yet possible to a very great extent. Dementia results in the individual developing a frequent tendency to forget things, which generally are an integral part of the mental repertoire. Parkinson’s Disease is another facet of growing old, which can’t be ignored completely.
Oftentimes, elderly and terminally ill people are abandoned by their own children and family. Seeing them as ‘burden ‘, they abandon the people who have functioned as their supportive spinal cords for numerous years unknown. The gradually increasing lack of humanity amidst people is partly and to a great extent responsible for this. In nature, when a tree is abound with fresh, green leaves, the old leaves, which have turned a pretty reddish orange, tend to fall off the boughs. Similarly, old people are like falling leaves , but they deserve utmost care and love .
